The Role:

Kenect has experienced 4 years of supersonic growth, and we’re just getting started!

We need the help of a full-time controller.  As the company prepares to scale at an accelerated pace, we need to ensure that our book-keeping, compliance, systems, and financial processes/controls provide the necessary foundation for growth.

We need a controller who can; first, take over all accounting processes, functions, and systems. Second, evaluate  our accounting process, functions and systems. Third, implement necessary changes. And fourth, scale the accounting function as the company grows.

This role will be fast-paced, self-managed, and highly entrepreneurial.

This role will report to the VP of Finance and Operations.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee all accounting processes, systems, and personnel
  • Assess current accounting processes, practices, and systems, and offer recommendations for improvement
  • Drive adoption of ASC 606 and other relevant accounting guidance
  • Initiate, prepare, and report all financial transactions of the company to ensure adequate generation and maintenance of accounting records
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Additionally, provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for board of directors, and internal executive team
  • Provide guidance for optimal GL, cost center, and other structural elements
  • Serve as the internal lead for annual financial audits, tax reporting, and other audit/tax related activity
  • Create and maintain accounting policies providing proper accounting controls to protect company assets
  • Coordinate with finance and operations team members to optimize systems and processes
  • Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable related activities
  • Manage and execute payroll and all elements of employee compensation
  • Provide ad-hoc reports to assist VP of Finance and company leadership in strategic decision-making

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Active CPA License
  • 3-5 years in public accounting and 5-7 years accounting in a SAAS company
  • Experience preparing for, and passing public audit
  • Experience with tax management and reporting, including state sales tax
  • Experience with Netsuite, Zuora and Salesforce preferred
  • Master of Accountancy or MBA from accredited university preferred
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) in the US
  • Absolute ethical standards and commitment to maintain sensitive information confidential
  • Ability to self-manage and manage various projects simultaneously
